Finishings include:
Distressed:      Give a new floor the look and character of a vintage floor, while still maintaining a uniform installation fit. The most commonly used method is hand scraping, whereby a metal edge removes the surface layer of wood to give it greater texture. this process creates a more natural distressing around raised knots; thus, enhancing the wood’s organic contours.
Smoked:  In smoked  floors, the tannins in the wood react to the burn, thereby giving the floor a darker, grey; exactly how deep a color is desired determines the duration of this treatment. Since not every piece of wood in a floor will contain the same amount of tannins, one section could appear darker than others. The result is an authentic, rustic floor with greater color variation.
Brushed: For a floor with extra accentuation,  wire-brushed floors are spectacular. Brushing removes the soft wood from the floor and further brings out its texture. This makes the floor even more durable and impact resistant. Any minor scratches and “imperfections” over the years as a result become less apparent and give way to that unique and characteristic appearance for which many of customers yearn.
Carbonized: To further simulate the extremes of nature,.some flooring undergoes carbonization, a process that exposes the wood to extreme heat and freezing temperatures. These fluctuations strengthened the wood, while brilliantly aging its appearance.

Ask about Floor Score
Do your part to protect your health & our enviornment!

FloorScore® was developed by the Resilient Floor Covering Institute (RFCI) together with nbsp; Scientific Certification Systems (SCS) to test and certify flooring products for compliance with indoor air quality emission requirements adopted in California.

Why everyone should care about indoor air quality?
IAQ is important because, if you’re like most people, you spend around 90% of your time indoors. If you’re breathing poor quality air, you could be facing a higher risk level for a variety of health problems, including headaches, dizziness, and more serious long-term condition
What is FloorScore® IAQ Certification?
When it comes to indoor air quality, a primary concern is the emission level of specific volatile organic compounds (VOCs). FloorScore® IAQ Certification means that a flooring product is indepentantly certified by SCS to comply with the volatile organic compound emissions criteria of the California Section 01350 Program. Hundreds of resilient flooring materials and their adhesives bear the FloorScore® seal. This seal tells you that the products have been independently certified by SCS to comply with the volatile organic compound emissions criteria of the California Section 01350 standard. Any product that has met these stringent standards is a product that will contribute to good indoor air quality. The FloorScore® certification means healthier, cleaner air. And that means healthier humans.
